Married at First Sight’s Martha Kalifatidis is in hot water over a thoughtless Instagram post to celebrate Earth Day.
The 30 year old shared a photograph of herself posing in a skimpy top and bike shorts, clutching a plastic water bottle.
Sharing her environmental words of wisdom, the caption reads: “Its [sic] World Earth Day Today. Pick up rubbish, even if it’s not yours! Avoid plastic whenever possible. Say no to straws. Progress is impossible without change, every little bit counts! #earthday”
Conscious her post was a contradiction to how she lives her life, she conceded: “I am guilty of using plastic bottles myself, but I am making a conscious effort to stop.”
While she may have had the best intensions of bringing Earth Day to the attention of her fans, they were quick to call her out on her tone-deaf advice.
Criticised for sharing a photo that showed off her figure instead of environmental issues, Martha was trolled for the post, with several of her followers pointing out the irony that she was campaigning against plastic use, despite having breast implants, drinking bottled water and using straws.
