Have you ever dreamed of being a star on your favourite reality TV show? For footwear designer Terry Biviano, this dream has finally become a reality as she joins the glamorous cast of The Real Housewives of Sydney.
“I think I’ve pretty much watched all [of the franchises] but not in their entirety. I am a secret The Real Housewives fan. I watch it late at night when my daughter and my husband are in bed,” Terry told WHO ahead of the new season.
Despite Terry being a long-time fan of the franchise, she was not entirely convinced about joining her fellow Sydney socialites on The Real Housewives of Sydney.
“I was extremely hesitant to sign on, but now that I’m here, I’m really grateful, and I’ve had such an incredible experience. Life’s all about experiences and taking chances and being game enough to really jump out of the box that you’re not normally in,” said Terry.
Reflecting on her decision to join the cast, Terry believes that the show’s relatability is what pushed her to sign on to the series.
“I love [The Real Housewives] because in certain characters, there are things I see in myself and there are things I see in my friends. There are situations that arise and I’m like, ‘Yes, I’ve been there and I’ve done that.’ We all act differently and we all make mistakes but I think, at the end of the day, it’s all about ownership [and] taking responsibility for your actions.”
Following an over six-year hiatus, The Real Housewives of Sydney has returned with five new housewives each hoping to make their impression on the Sydney social scene; bringing a renewed energy to the franchise.
“This series is definitely going in a new direction [compared to] past franchises or past TV series, so I think we were all up for that. I think we want to really redefine what a housewife is and hopefully inspire other women and other people through our own experiences. This is an incredible platform, and it’s nothing something that comes to you every day,” Terry told WHO.
While the series may be home to a new group of housewives, Terry assures that fans can still expect the same level of The Real Housewives drama that they know and love.
“It’s an emotional roller coaster not just for us, but for the viewers as well. There’s definitely some drama in having seven women together. There’s always going to be some sort of drama, but it’s not vicious. It’s not malicious, it’s just entertaining. We’re making a reality show at the end of the day, so everything is a little bit more heightened than it normally would be.”
