The Blink-182 drummer, 46, was taken away on a stretcher into an ambulance to Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre with his wife by his side after he was seen at West Hills hospital for what was originally believed to be complications from a colonoscopy.
But on Saturday, Travis provided a health update and clarified his condition: “I went in for an endoscopy on Monday feeling great. But after dinner, I developed excruciating pain and have been hospitalized ever since.”
“During the endoscopy, I had a very small polyp removed right in a very sensitive area, usually handled by specialists, which unfortunately damaged a critical pancreatic drainage tube. This resulted in severe life threatening pancreatitis.”
Travis is now in recovery and said to be healing well, posting several Instagram Stories after he was seemingly released from hospital.
An endoscopy involves using an endoscope – a long, thin medical instrument with a light and lens used for viewing the body internally – to examine inside a patient’s body.
Two common forms of endoscopy are an upper endoscopy, also known as an esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD), which looks at the esophagus, stomach andfirst part of the small intestine for patients who experience regular heartburn, vomiting or other symptoms.
Another type is endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography, or ERCP, in which the endoscopy is inserted in the patient’s mouth and worked down to the small intestine to treat issues with bile and pancreatic ducts.
This procedure can cause pancreatitis due to manipulating the pancreatic duct opening with the scope, however Travis did not clarify which type of endoscopy he underwent nor the specific details of his complications.
His emergency hospitalisation came hours after the musician cryptically posted a message to Twitter that read: “God save me.”
Amid news of the his health scare, his 16-year-old daughter, Alabama, posted on her Instagram Story, writing, “Please send your prayers.”
She also shared a photo to TikTok of her holding her father’s hand as he appeared to be reclining in a stretcher or hospital bed.

The scary ordeal came following Kourtney’s own health battle after she contracted COVID for the second time.
According to a post on her lifestyle blog, Poosh, Kourt has since made a “full recovery” from her second bout of the virus.
“She wanted to share the most helpful things she has learned this time around. From the thermometer she is ‘obsessed’ with to being vocal when feeling scared,” the post began, before revealing ‘Kourt’s COVID tips.’
She also claimed that putting peppermint oil at the base of your skull was great to ease congestion.
“It feels so good and tingly and gives the best relief,” Kourt shared.
The pair’s recent health hurdles come just over a month after they were married in a lavish ceremony in Portofino, Italy surrounded by family and friends.
