"Season 2. Thank you to our audience. Plain and simple. You are our heartbeat. We love you so," SJP wrote on Instagram to announce the second season.
"We are so excited to continue the show! Thank you to all of our supporters and also to everyone who had something to say," Kristin wrote on her page. "What a thrill to be a part of a show like this! And so thrilled to get to continue."

The absence of Samantha was one of the biggest talking points around the show's return late last year, particularly given her public falling out with SJP.
Speaking to TVLine, HBO Max chief content officer Casey Bloys said the show "is very much a story about women in their 50s, and they are dealing with things that people deal with in their 50s."
He then added: "Just as in real life, people come into your life, people leave. Friendships fade, and new friendships start.
"So, I think it is all very indicative of the real stages, the actual stages of life … They’re trying to tell an honest story about being a woman in her 50s in New York."
In the end, Samantha was shown to have fallen out with Carrie over business, before fleeing the country post-haste and settling down in London.
While the storyline felt a little off-brand for Samantha, the final episode did open the door for a mended friendship between the girls. Even if that friendship exists exclusively over text messages, because Kim is adamant she's not returning.
The series also recently faced a devastating setback in September, with cast and crew mourning the loss of Willie Garson during filming following a battle with cancer.
Known for his iconic role as Stanford Blatch, the actor had been seen shooting scenes in New York before his tragic death.
"I will miss everything about you," Sarah wrote in honour of her late friend. "And replay our last moments together. I will re-read every text from your final days and put to pen our last calls."
"Your absence a crater that I will fill with blessing of these memories and all the ones that are still in recesses yet to surface."
