As for the owner of this glorious yacht – Robert Kuok, Malaysia’s wealthiest man, is rumoured to have purchased it but this has yet to be confirmed.

Naturally, tons of people were outraged that an innocent shark had been killed for the sake of art, but others quickly defended his work and suggested, “Here we have a direct experience of the shark, not mediated through any media. Thus we are forced to consider the shark in a new and different context and re-evaluate how we perceive the animal.

6. Passion Diamond Shoes $USD 17 million ($AUD 25 million)

We’ve all heard the saying, Diamonds are a girl’s best friend, but Jada Dubai and Passion Jewellers just made diamonds a girl’s best shoes! These beautiful stilettos hold the title for the most expensive shoes in the universe and it’s not hard to see why. They are intricately designed with rare diamonds, silk, gold, and leather. No wonder it’s crazy expensive! 

5. The Bugatti La Voiture Noire $USD 19 million ($AUD 28 million)

This year, Bugatti just released a new car as dark as your ex’s soul. When translated to English, La Voiture Noire means The Black Car and is deemed the most expensive new car to date! Before it was even revealed to the audience at the Geneva Motor Show, an anonymous and insanely rich buyer just so happened to have $USD 19 million to spare and cashed it in.

4. 1963 Ferrari 250 GTO $USD 70 million ($AUD 103 million)

Everybody loves a winner – and that’s exactly what this race car is! This 1963 Ferrari 250 GTO is incredibly valuable for winning the Tour de France! It was sold to David MacNeil, a car collector and businessman. Only 32 Ferrari 250 GTOs were built in 1962-1963 – making this a very rare model indeed.

3. The Great Star of Africa I $USD 400 million ($AUD 591 million)

This magnificent drop-shaped diamond is dripping with royalty and we’ll tell you why. The Great Star of Africa I was given as a gift to King Edward VII on his sweet 66th birthday party in 1907. Discovered by Thomas Cullinan, it is the largest fine-cut diamond that exists on Earth with 530 carats! It originally came from one 3,106-carat diamond that was divided into nine smaller pieces. Today, you can find this large, sparkly diamond shining from Queen Elizabeth II’s sceptre while the smallest of the nine pieces was turned into a ring that the Queen now wears.


2. Leonardo Da Vinci’s Salvator Mundi $USD 450.3 million ($AUD 665 million) 

Leonardo Da Vinci’s antique oil painting from the Renaissance is one of the most famous pieces he ever created! In 2017, it was sold at an auction in New York to a Saudi Prince but nowadays its whereabouts remain unknown. Recently, it was supposed to be a part of an Abu Dhabi exhibit in 2018 but was pulled from the viewing without explanation.

1. The History Supreme Yacht $USD 4.5 billion ($AUD 66.5 billion)

And as we mentioned earlier, the most expensive thing in the world is the History Supreme yacht! Let’s take a look at some of its features, shall we? 

On the outside, it is layered with just the right amount of platinum, gold, and other jewels – approximately 100,000kg. And on the inside, its master bedroom has a wall piece made from the bones of a T-Rex, because why the hell not?

It also comes with some pretty damn extravagant on-board items like a panoramic wall aquarium made of gold, a luxury liquor bottle, and of course a diamond-studded iPhone with a spare replaceable home button diamond, just in case the other diamond doesn’t match your outfit.
