If you thought you had a tough pregnancy, wait until you see what Amy Schumer’s was like. This afternoon, the comedian posted a tongue-in-cheek video to her Instagram page which shows her vomiting in every place imaginable for three minutes straight.
Yep, she literally posted a puking montage titled “For your consideration… #GROWING #PUKEWARNING Swipe!” to social media. ICONIC.
Sitting by a waterfall, the seemingly innocent “Emmy consideration” video begins with a heavily pregnant Schumer thanking the Academy judges for the nomination and apologising for her absence.
“I’m just staring at a waterfall like you do when you’re pregnant,” she begins. “Thank you so much for your consideration and I really wish I could be out there, I couldn’t make it out to LA. But I wanna wish all the comedians the best of luck because it’s such a great pool of comics this year.”
Then, unexpectedly, the video cuts to the 38-year-old spewing her brains out. There’s a clip of her heaving into a public toilet, puking out a car door, vomiting in a comedy club and violently throwing up before going on stage.
“I f**kin love being pregnant, it’s the s**t,” she says in one clip before projectile vomiting into a sick bag. “I threw up so hard yesterday that I popped all the blood vessels.”

Less than a month after discovering she and her husband Chris Fischer were expecting their first child, the Trainwreck actress was diagnosed with Hyperemesis gravidarum (a.k.a, severe nausea and vomiting during pregnancy). Not only was she hospitalised on countless occasions but she was forced to cancel a huge chunk of her comedy tour due to the rare pregnancy illness. Despite experiencing the worst, all was forgotten when the couple welcomed a baby boy named Gene on May 7.
“Ok here’s my post baby annoying post and my takeaway from pregnancy. Women are the sh–. Men are cool and whatever but women are f–king warriors and capable of anything,” Schumer wrote after announcing the birth of her baby on Instagram. “All my friends. Friends I’ve had for 30 years or people who encouraged me to “keep going” or telling me “it will be worth it”. Thank you. Every woman I encountered is so willing to help and advise you and I felt all their strength. And you were right. Thank you ladies from my family.
