It’s here! The reboot of Charlie’s Angels hits theaters this November, and the first trailer has just been released.
Starring Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott and Ella Balinska, the new Charlie’s Angels are hotter than ever – especially with the inclusion of Noah Centineo!
The first look at Charlie’s Angels
In the clip, Elena Houghlin (played by Naomi Scott from Aladdin) can be heard discussing a product that can revolutionize the power industry.
“There’s a possibility it can be weaponised,” says Elena.
Elena teams up with Jane Kano (Ella Balinska) and Sabina Wilson (Kristen Stewart) in an attempt to stop this new tech from destroying the world.
Officially, the film isn’t being named as a ‘reboot’ or ‘remake’, as it will actually acknowledge the canon from previous movies and television show.
“There is a kitsch nature to the last ones that was super fun, but nowadays if you see a woman in combat, everything should be something completely and utterly well within their ability,” Stewart explained in a previous interview.
“And [the new trio of Angels] work together really, really beautifully. And there’s a whole network of Angels — it’s not just three — it’s women across the entire globe [that] are connected and helping each other.”
Sounds incredible.
“It is not maybe everyone’s immediate response that it would be, like, something we would have to see again because the one I grew up with was so much fun.” Stewart also explained in a recent interview. “And you know, the re-imagining is so grounded and well-intentioned and really shows the way women can work together now.”
The Charlie’s Angels trailer also gives viewers a look into the closets of two international spies: one filled with clothes, accessories, and wigs for disguises, the other filled with weapons.
The use of weapons is yet another update from the old movie starring Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore and Lucy Liu, who depended on martial arts.
There is also a brand new song by Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus and Lana Del Rey which features in the promo for the new movie.
In fact, Ariana Grande serves as executive producer of the Charlie’s angels soundtrack!
The singer posted the Charlie’s Angels trailer to her Instagram, captioning it:
“@charliesangels in theaters this november …. co executive producing this soundtrack with @awsuki @ilya_music & #mxm has been the coolest fucking thing in the world. beyond grateful for this opportunity and can’t wait for everyone to hear the music and see this phenomenal film. november”
Charlie’s Angels is in theaters on Nov. 15.
