WATCH: Miley takes a swipe at Liam

In a chat with news.com.au about Liam’s impressive Men’s Health Australia cover, the Thor actor said he’s proud he made the bold decision to move back home and leave his old life with the singer behind.

“He’s out there training and staying fit, and back in Australia doing his thing. It’s Australian living, I guess. We got him out of Malibu!” said the hunky 36-year-old who is currently promoting his new Netflix film, Extraction.

As we know, the pop sensation and Hunger Games actor— who called time on their relationship eight months after tying the knot— owned a home together in Malibu. It’s also the name of her 2017 hit single, which details how she fell in love with Liam again after briefly splitting.

While Liam has since moved on with Aussie model Gabriella Brooks, he told Men’s Health that in the midst of his divorce from Miley, he found it difficult to cope with the constant media attention.

“It really got to me,” he said. “Yeah, look, there are times when you want to lash out and say something… These days I don’t want to invest any more time in worrying about that sort of stuff.
“I remind myself of what to appreciate now and to enjoy every moment as much as possible, whether that be working or with my family or whatever I’m doing. Just trying to find a positive in it all and enjoy life as much as possible.”
As for how he dealt with their decade long relationship actually coming to an end, Liam said he’s still working hard to regain balance in his life.

“This last six months, honestly, for keeping my head level and just staying balanced, I’d say exercise has been big for me,” said the star, who is currently training for his new flick, Most Dangerous Game.

When asked if he’s in a “rebuilding” phase of his life, he said, “yeah, that’s a good way to put it.”

His subtle reference to the ‘We Can’t Stop’ singer comes two weeks after an insider revealed Gabriella has made Liam realise he’s never felt better, safe or more comfortable in a relationship.

“He feels more at home with Gabriella than he did with Miley [Cyrus],” a source told US Weekly. “He feels like he can be his complete self without any drama.”

The insider continued: “Gabriella helped Liam boost his confidence and played an encouraging role in his life after his split with Miley. They are very happy together and it’s comfortable and easy.”

But what does Miley think of his new romance?

Despite turning into a “green-eyed monster” when Liam was pictured getting cosy with Maddison Brownthe former Disney star hasn’t given it a second thought.

Miley is not asking their mutual friends about Liam’s new relationship. She doesn’t want to make anyone uncomfortable. She is not checking in on Liam” a source close to the pop sensation turned Black Mirror actress told Hollywood life.

“When they first broke up, a lot of their closest friends were in disbelief and thought they’d get back together. They were always fighting and breaking up and making up and everyone thought they’d get past this, but it got too deep.

“Liam just realised he wanted a different kind of wife, one who was more traditional and reserved, and his family really helped him take the step in divorce. He’s happier, but he does miss Miley. The divorce really divided some of their close friends.”

Thankfully, Miley has also moved on from all the drama and recently celebrated her six month anniversary with Cody Simpson while in isolation
