There has been a dramatic turn of events on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! with a celebrity walking out of The Jungle just one week in.
A teaser video before tonight’s show alluded to someone leaving, and after much fan speculation, it was in fact Deni Hines who hung up her camouflage bandana.
Across the show’s 12 seasons, only seven campmates have ever made the decision to leave The Jungle. The list includes Anthony Mundine, Beau Ryan, Bernard Tomic, Frankie Muniz, Kerri-Anne Kennerley, Mel Buttle and now Deni.
Why did Deni Hines quit I’m A Celeb?
Deni Hines has struggled to adjust to camp life and has had several clashes with fellow campmates, with one altercation even leaving Nath Valvo in tears.
“I’m a very strong willed human being and I’m very direct. And, if you’ve grown up in a bit of a cotton wool environment, I’d be a bit weird for you,” she said on tonight’s episode.

Fans have accused Deni of “stirring the point” online after instigating conflict.
However, fellow campmate Luke Bateman took an empathetic approach on tonight’s episode, saying it was clear Deni was “struggling with Jungle life” and her behaviour reflects it.
“I think she feels very much like she’s in a bit of a boiling pot and I think that is very much reflected in her actions and her words and her demeanour,” he said, adding that she had been “aggressive” with her approach.
The pair had a heart-to-heart before Deni ultimately decided to leave, with Deni admitting “there’s just too many personalities for me and I’m just not used to that”.
Who has been eliminated so far from I’m A Celeb?
So far, no one has been eliminated from I’m A Celeb this season.
Deni’s exit marks the first campmate to leave The Jungle.

However, Channel 10 has teased an upcoming elimination this week so there could be more to come.
Since the public won’t be voting contestants out this year as all the episodes pre-recorded, we’re seriously on the edge of our seats to find out who is booted out first.
What other changes do we know about I’m A Celeb this season?

Despite the show being pre-recorded, and by extension public voting slashed, the public will have the ultimate decision of who is crowned the King or Queen of The Jungle – with three different finale episodes already recorded.
Finalists flew home after filming their ‘winning scenes’ without knowing if they’re the winners or not, because it’s ultimately not been decided yet.
