John Legend and Chrissy Teigen's festive special is the cheesiest thing you'll see all year ... but that's the point

Superstar couple John Legend and Chrissy Teigen deck the halls in this variety special that shares its name with Legend’s recent festive album. Those halls, however, are those of a 1980s-style sitcom house and A Legendary Christmas channels the type of cheese we were served up in that decade.

The highlights of A Legendary Christmas are when the singer performs a number of songs from his holiday album, with guests including Stevie Wonder.
Less entertaining are the cheesy skits featuring everyone from Kris Jenner and daughter Kim Kardashian West to dancer Derek Hough.

Even comedians Zach Galifianakis and Awkwafina are decidedly unfunny stiltedly sticking to the painful script. More something to have on in the background while you do your own celebrating than a sit-down must-watch, but that’s exactly what you want at this time of year, isn’t it?
