EXCLUSIVE: MAFS groom reveals secret about Chris and Sam

A MAFS groom told WHO everything was not as it seemed.

MAFS contestants have finally had enough of the drama… or at least now they’re actually being vocal about how bad it is. Tonight was certainly the night of stand-offs, with Danny confronting Gia about her Feedback Week no-show (yep, Gia and Scott didn’t leave the experiment after all, shocker!) and Alissa arguing with Bec about those “abusive messages” sent at the start of the season.

However, the feud that surfaced and shocked viewers was the one between Chris and Sam – a couple that had previously been pretty drama free.

Although, ex-intruder groom Joel spoke to WHO about the pair, hinting that the true colours fans are seeing now have actually been there all along.

Another strong MAFS couple has fallen

After Chris spoke to the experts at the Commitment Ceremony about his and Sam’s future plans together, Sam left feeling completely shocked.

Apparently, everything Chris mentioned on the couch was all news to Sam as the pair had never discussed any plans for their future outside the experiment, let alone how to manage a potential long-distance relationship.

While Chris thought his initiative was an “adorable” act that showed Sam he cared, Sam was completely blindsided, and struggled to get Chris to understand this throughout Feedback Week.

Since Sam was only ever met with “defensiveness” from Chris, Sam told his partner on the ride to the dinner party that he didn’t feel Chris’ apologies were “genuine” and that he wanted to bring it up with the rest of the group.

This was the ball-drop moment for Chris, who immediately rushed to Gia’s side after her arrival to vent and prepare for an “us versus them” fight to take place.

As Sam brought up his relationship concerns about Chris to the group to get a second opinion, Chris fired back, claiming that this isn’t his “usual vibe”, and that while he does “get fiery”, he didn’t think this warranted being “gaslit” in front of everyone.

Whether Sam was overreacting or not, as he spoke, the camera panned from Gia to Chris as the pair smirked and rolled their eyes, making fans lean closer to Sam’s side when it comes to Chris’ genuineness.

You are the company you keep, as they say, and perhaps Gia isn’t the best role model right now.

Are true colours finally being shown?

WHO spoke to ex-intruder groom Joel about how this couple acted behind the scenes up until now and he didn’t hold back with his opinions.

As Joel described Gia, Chris, and Juliette as “three peas in a pod” during his time on the experiment, it appears the remaining two peas have kept their alliance (Juliette is out of the experiment!).

Despite Chris initially winning over fans with his baby news and the “wholesome” start to his relationship with Sam, Joel spoke about how Chris would “egg Juliette on” during her lash-outs (often targeted towards Joel) and argued that “a wholesome person” wouldn’t do that, but would instead “put a stop to it.”

“A wholesome person would not egg Juliet on like that, they would put a stop to it. They would say, Juliet, this is the way you’re treating him [and] it’s absolutely disgusting.”

“Like attracts like”, Joel told WHO. “They are alike.”

This hints at a potential underlying personality trait that we are yet to see from Chris on the show, or… just starting to.

While fans have watched him side with Gia and Juliette, or rather not speak up for anyone else, they’re now starting to watch him listen more to pot-stirring brides like Gia over his own husband Sam.

“I guess Chris would say he’s a girl’s girl or he’s a girl’s man, whatever the hell they want to call it,” Joel said. “[It’s] bollocks.”

“Bollocks” or not, it seems another clash is in store for this couple at the Commitment Ceremony, with one moment in particularly bringing Colin-Firth-lookalike Sam to tears.
