Purely going by Jake’s Instagram, there is already so much to say about this MAFS contestant – he is a mental health charity CEO, he likes animals, has tattoos, played footy, and goes to the gym.

The former VFL player can also apparently play guitar and sing, which are skills sure to be broadcast on the dating show. But it’s his personal life from before the reality show that really has tongues wagging.

Prior to the premiere, drama went down on Instagram when friends of Jake’s ex-fiancée Paige called him out for being a not-so-great person.

On their Instagram Story, one friend said, “First of all LEL at ‘EX AFL Star’ (A reaction to a Daily Mail headline).

Another disgruntled friend posted on their story some shady comments accusing him of past bad behaviour.

“Good luck to his future. In the midst of it all finds it somewhere in him to apply for MAFS,” the comment read.

“He now has the audacity to go on MAFS.

As more rumours continue to swirling online about the CEO’s alleged shady past, Jake has spoken out on Nova’s Fitzy and Wippa.

When asked by Fitzy if he broke up with his ex to go on the show, Jake replied, “I have been engaged, but we split 12 months before the show so that rumour floating around is totally false.”

It appears Jake has confirmed he is not on good terms with his ex-fiancee when the former VFL star told Fitzy he did not let her know he is going on MAFS.

He even insists she would have psyched him out of his decision.

“No, there wasn’t (any contact), and the reason for that is, I know that the relationship that we had at the time, I was convinced that she would probably make me feel really terrible for doing something like this and going on the show and I probably would’ve pulled out,” Jake said.

WHO has reached out to Channel Nine for further comment about the allegations against Jake.

According to Married At First Sight, Jake hasn’t been able to find a woman who doesn’t “try to take advantage of him,” and he wants to be loved for who he is on the inside.

Jake also explained that he broke up with his ex-fiancé because he realised that he “didn’t love her anymore.”

But it seems in his Fitzy and Wippa interview that while the country boy thinks his MAFS wife Rebecca is attractive, he does not have much to say about her personality.

Fitzy asked Jake if his wife fits the description he gave to the experts.

He said, “Look, I was very lucky, Rebecca’s a beautiful person, and she’s stunning visually.”

But when it came to answering how well their personalities connected, he cryptically replied,”You’ll have to wait and watch tonight and you’ll get an understanding of our personalities.”

Jake’s Instagram is a wild place, at least that is one way to describe its chaos.

His bio reads “Charming. Charitable. Old School,” and is a fan of long, inspirational captions on his posts, which is quite hectic since he only has just over 7,000 followers at the time of publishing.

MAFS isn’t the first time Jake has been thrust into the spotlight – and once enjoyed a career in VFL. Once it came to an end, Jake founded men’s mental health organisation Outside the Locker Room in 2015.

Over the past six years, he has travelled around Australia sharing his experience with depression and surviving suicide.

Jake has collaborated with former I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! star, Dipper aka Robert PiPierdomenico, and can even count The Bachelor’s Brooke Blurton as a fan – the season six star supported Jake’s Tackling Suicide game in Perth in March 2019.

If Jake’s drama is already causing a stir before the season has aired, fans are in for an epic season.

We’re just hoping Jake has some self-awareness around his singing!
