Well well well, another Married At First Sight dinner party and another moment of Bryce aggressively getting on the defensive. But whilst Bryce lost even more fans after Wednesday’s dinner party, viewers are praising his co-star Jake for calling out abusive language.
The drama kicked off when bride Bec shared with the group that Bryce has a secret girlfriend – a piece of information she says Bryce told her at the gym but that Bryce himself is strongly denying.
However when Bryce called Bec “the f***ing puppeteer”, her husband Jake was not having any of it.
“Do not speak to not only my wife but any other female with language like that,” he warned Bryce.
When the radio announcer tried to defend himself, Jake added: “You can say the facts, that’s fine brother, but don’t swear – it comes across abusive. I won’t have it so don’t do it.”
Jake went on to say in a piece to camera: “Hearing him having his opinion is fine but when he starts swearing I couldn’t have it, especially towards Bec.”
His wife voiced her gratitude as well explaining: “For him to feel strongly enough about Bryce’s behaviour towards me to voice up about it, it felt really good to see,” adding that she and Jake were “great.”
Speaking to WHO back in February, Jake confessed that he was ready to do whatever it takes for his marriage especially after admitting he cheated on his ex-fiancée.
“I’ve learned a lot about myself over the years. I’m ready to make a real commitment to someone, and I trust that the experts on Married at First Sight have found me my perfect match,” he said.
“I want to settle down and start a family with the love of my life. After everything I’ve been through and everything I’ve learned about myself, I’m ready for a real love now.”
The experts were pleased to hear Jake defending not only Bec but the rest of the brides.
“Tell you what, I think Bec will appreciate Jake standing up tonight because I liked what he had to say and how he said it,” John Aiken remarked.
And it seems they weren’t the only ones cheering the mental health worker on as Twitter exploded with compliments for Jake.
“All men need to take notes from Jake on how to treat and defend women,” one remarked.
In a previous chat with TV WEEK, Bec revealed that Bryce confessed about his “girl on the outside” to her just after Honesty Week.
“He was seeing a girl and his mate asked him if he wanted to get her a gift.”
“He told me, in the gym, this information, along with telling me that he placed me first on the hottest/nottest little rating, as well as telling me that it would be easy enough to get to the end of the experiment with Melissa.”
“I’m telling you now, he was flirting with me in the gym and he was talking down about Melissa.”
