Family and Friends Week on MAFS has brought its fair share of both blushing brides and steaming storm-outs as Stella and Filip’s friends gush over their relationship and audiences watch Scott delete the over 500 photos (yes, 500!) of his ex that made Gia dramatically exit the show the night before.
However, it seems fans had more to say about the intruders and their Crash Course Week after Tuesday night’s episode on March 3.
While intruder bride Juliette spoke to her husband Joel through a door, refusing to look into his “devil eyes” (perhaps a tad too far there), intruder groom Tyson took his bride Stephanie out for a schnitty…and revealed he’s still not over his ex (just what Steph wants to hear!).
Although, after watching each others audition videos, fans are beginning to understand why Stephanie was paired with Tyson in the first place.
What did Stephanie’s audition video reveal?
Amidst comments about her dog being her priority and claims that she’ll be a “cool mum”, what really had fans reeling was her admission that she’s a huge Trump fan.
While our reaction was to wince, sigh and perhaps throw up, Tyson reacted like he had finally seen the light.
“She’s got substance,” he told producers. “I think Steph will like what she sees.”
Well, she certainly likes one part of it…
While watching his video, Steph nods along as Tyson brags of his MAGA stance and claims that Trump is not actually racist (?).
However, this momentary agreement was short lived after Tyson remarks about not wanting to be approached or spoken to by people from the gay community.
Steph confronts Tyson about the way he “talks down” to gays and says what we all were thinking.
“I don’t believe that any gay people would be hitting on you,” she snapped back.

After a stern word and lesson on how we’re all “just humans having our own experiences”, Tyson seems to finally break a sweat, desperately trying to claw his way out of the hole he dug for himself.
“I like gay people,” he said. How convincing…
Fan’s think Steph is a ‘hypocrite’
While Steph is preaching that love is love, fans are calling out her hypocrisy as she stands firm in her MAGA beliefs.
“Stephanie is such a hypocrite,” one user commented online.

Fans have commented that while she may come off a little better on screen when “compared to Tyson” who “cannot get his feet further into his mouth”, she’s pretty shocking in her own right.”
While some users have acknowledged that “Steph and Tyson might share some views, but it’s apparent not on all”, others are calling Steph out on not bringing up “harder questions” around Trump, as well as the MAFS producers for showing her “sympathy.”
Yes, people aren’t watching MAFS to receive an expert political commentary, however, it’s important to recognise the impact that spotlighting views like this can have on discussions and opinions circling the wider public.
