We’ve got to admit, we’ve been gunning for Timm Hanly since day one of The Bachelorette 2019.
Ever since he stepped onto the red carpet with a whopping bunch of sunflowers for this year’s leading lady, Angie Kent, the loveable larrikin had our hearts.
And now, at last, the mansion’s resident jokester has had his first single date!

“There’s still this big, weird question mark over Timm,” Angie admitted. “So I figured, let’s go on a single date and get to the bottom of this dude. I know he can be a goof but I’m just hoping that there’s a serious side to him, too.”
Of course, the day started with the goofiness – aka the side of Timm we already know and just want to pinch his little cheeks for – kicking off with him unable to actually find his hot date.
“Today’s date is about showing Angie that there’s more to me than being a jokester,” he explained to camera. “But [I’m] walking around like a lost monkey. The nerves are definitely there.”
Nawww, bless his little cotton socks.
Luckily, the cute goofball found his leading lady, and the pair had a super-cute park date involving making memories with a Polaroid camera, eating ice-cream and another sweet sunflower moment.
“I remember what you said about your grandma,” a flustered Timm told Ange as he offered her a single bloom. “You said it’s a sign… and I just thought I would remind you…”
OMG.
Angie was, as Timm said, “frothing” for it.
“For him to even remember that, and he just looks so happy to be there,” she gushed to camera.
“It made me even more excited about the day.”
(Cue Timm with more cuteness…)
“I think that your purpose is done as a partner if you make your partner smile.”
And Angie was definitely smiling!
“Timm, he is so funny and he has no shame either. He is such a weirdo.”
“I’m a weirdo,” she continued. “I love a weirdo.”
Woah, back up, girl – did you just say you love Timm?
“I just dig it. I just dig the vibe.”
But could he be too wacky… even for Ange?
“I just need to work out if this guy is the type of crazy that’s going to drive me crazy, or if he is going to have me crazy in love.”
Weirdo-ness aside, Timm did give Angie (and us) a solid sneak peek into his more serious side, and it only upped his sweetness factor.
“He makes me laugh so much that I almost cry. I just dig him. He has got the best vibe,” Angie revealed after the pair giggled through childhood snaps of the now-27-year-old. “He’s weird and I really like him. He’s just so easy to be around.”
“I have seen him as quite the show-off but someone who can always put a smile on my face. But the fact that I have seen this serious side and I’ve seen how much he loves his mum and his dad, we share the same kind of beliefs on life and family.”
Then, she made the biggest call we’ve heard so far:
“I think it is the best date I have had so far.”

Timm’s had our vote since day dot (along with Ciarran Stott, Carlin Steritt, Ryan ‘Aussie Dog Guy’ Anderson… oh god, don’t make us choose!).
We loved the fireproofer’s cheeky smile and massive bunch of sunflowers (as did Angie) when he first hit our screens.
“Did you know that I love sunflowers or did you just guess?” Angie asked him.
“No, I just love sunflowers. I got one tattooed on my hand. I’ve always had ’em in my house. They’re so good, eh?”
Um, we can sense a winner coming on… And Angie can, too.
“Sunflowers are actually my sign – so, if I see a sunflower, to me, that’s a sign from my nanny that, like, I’m in the right place.”
