What about you? Did you get time to enjoy yourself?
I got two days off a week and my husband [Joshua Gross] came with me. So that was lovely. We booked a hotel in different places and travelled around so we actually saw the area, and we really made an effort to see as much as we could. The first year I went, I met him on the plane trip back.
So this was an anniversary trip for you?
Yeah, we haven’t been on our honeymoon yet. We will get around to that after. It wasn’t quite a honeymoon, but at least we got to get out there and really see it because we were there for like two months.
How do you like Love Island compared to say Beauty and the Geek?
They are chalk and cheese, those shows. I think Love Island is so addictive. The beauty of Beauty and the Geek is the innocence and watching the growth, and it’s not so focused on love. In this, they’ve both got common interests – they like going to the gym, like doing social media and whatever. But this is why I like reality. If you put people in a house, you can only for a certain amount of time try to be someone else, until you just have to be yourself. They were thrown some tests this year and there’s a couple of familiar faces as well. If you haven’t watched Love Island before, then this is the season to watch.
Love Island Australia starts Mon. Oct. 31, 6pm on 9Now
