Big Brother VIP star Ellie Gonsalves has revealed she is engaged, accepting a sweet proposal from her boyfriend of 13 years as they took part in a show at Australia Zoo. The proposal was pulled off with the help of close friends Chandler Powell and Terri, Bindi, and Robert Irwin.

The 30-year-old star revealed it was the “best day” of her life when her partner, Ross Scutts, got down on one knee while she co-hosted the Croc show with the famous Irwin family. Ellie has been a Wildlife Warrior for 12 years and is currently competing on their behalf on BBVIP.
“This was the best day of my life. Not only did I get to feed a crocodile for Wildlife Warriors with Terri, Robert and Chandler, but my best friend asked me to marry him,” Ellie wrote on Instagram after the public proposal.
“We’ve been together for almost 13 years, we spent the majority of the beginning working on our careers overseas & working towards achieving our goals,” she continued. “Between that, I lost my dad and Ross lost his.”
The engagement news comes after Ellie opened up on BBVIP about why she and Ross were not yet married, telling her housemates their wedding day would have been too emotional without their fathers. Opening up on the topic once again in her Instagram post, Ellie said it was now their time.
“Ross and I wanted to wait for a time we could get past the loss of our dads and be in a really great place (mentally) where we could celebrate our love for each other,” she wrote.
Designed by Calleija Jewels, the ring was a collaboration between Ellie and Ross, but the model believed they would become engaged in a few months time. She revealed there was a special tribute to her late father in the stunning pear-shaped engagement ring.
“I always trusted Ross would know when that time was, and yesterday was our time,” she continued. “And my god, it was the most beautiful day. I’m so glad you picked a place that is SO special to us that we’ve shared so many incredible memories with BOTH of our dads, with people we LOVE surrounding us.
“Thank you to the Irwins, the Australia Zoo family for making this day so unbelievably special & THANKYOU to Calleija Jewels for creating the most beautiful ring to symbolize our love for each other (even down to the initials R for Ross, D for daddy and of course their signature C for Calleija on our ring.. which represents the past, present and future).
