General Hospital star Susan Brown has passed away

Veteran actress, Susan Brown, best known for her role as Dr. Gail Baldwin on General Hospital, died at 86, on August 31.

“It’s a very sad day in Port Charles as the wonderful Susan Brown (“Gail Baldwin”) passed away today,” General Hospital executive producer Frank Valentini shared on Twitter. “My sincerest condolences to her family and to all who knew this amazing woman.”

Meanwhile, actor Kin Shriner, who played Dr.Baldwin’s step-son Scotty, took to Twitter to mourn his loss. “Sad to say one of my best friends and costars Susan Brown passed away today she played Gail Baldwin my mother R.I.P. Susan I will miss all our laughs,” he wrote.

Brown made her debut on the popular American soap in 1977, and earned a daytime Emmy nomination for the role in 1979. She worked on and off on the 1985 medical drama until 1985, and made guest appearances on the show until 2004. Fans would also recognise her appearances on shows like Murder, She Wrote, Beverly Hills, 90210Barney Miller, and Frasier.

A number of tributes have since been made by former co-workers of the late actress.
