Honey Boo Boo star Alana Thompson has revealed her devastation over her strained relationship with her father, Sugar Bear.
The 12-year-old TV star admitted she only speaks to her father once a month.
‘He calls me every once in a while,’ she told PEOPLE magazine.
‘He doesn’t really call me that much, which is kind of sad because he’s supposed to be my father and I think if he’s my father, you should call me more.’
Her mother, Mama June, added: ‘There’s so much hurt from the past that has brought us to where we’re at today, so honestly for me, he’s got to show her – not me – that he wants to step up and be a father and that he wants to do what he needs to do.’
Sugar Bear dated Mama June – who he had Alana with – for several years before they split for good in 2014.
Honey Boo Boo walked her father Mike ‘Sugar Bear’ Thompson down the aisle as he wed his girlfriend, Jennifer Lamb, earlier this year.
