I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! kicked off for another year on Sunday night with stars boasting various levels of fame entering the jungle.
And as introductions flowed, there was one interaction that was particularly awkward.

The Bachelor’s Abbie Chatfield, who had long been rumoured to be part of the Network Ten reality show, welcomed comedian Ash Williams into the fold but was unaware this wasn’t the first time they’d crossed paths.
“I’m Abbie Chatfield,” she tells Ash while offering him a drink.
In response, Ash replied: “I know, I know! Yeah, yeah, I DM’d you a while ago.”
Appearing to have no recollection of the message, Abbie asked, “Oh… was it anything nefarious? I often get pictures when I get DM’d.”
Ash then revealed she had snubbed him when he had attempted to make contact, leaving him on “read”.
“I think you saw it. It said ‘seen’. But it’s okay. No, you were busy. You just got off The Bachelor. It’s all good,” he said.
After Abbie famously shot in to the public eye on Matt Agnew’s season of The Bachelor, where she was runner-up to Chelsie McLeod, the reality star has been open about the harsh messages and trolling she’s received online.
Previously speaking to Who, the blonde beauty revealed that she leaned on her family for support and her mum, who raised Abbie singlehandedly had been there for her.
“My whole family is very supportive, especially because of all the trolling I went through after The Bachelor,” Abbie revealed.
“Trolls try to get to me by saying things like, ‘What would your father think?’ And I’m like, ‘Umm my father left when I was born, so, not sure.’ But my uncle is pretty stoked about it all. He’s so proud of me.”
She added that her mother has no problem with some of the out-there and candid Instagram posts she is known for.
“The only thing she’s ever questioned me on was a post on Instagram where I was dancing and singing ‘Shout to the Lord’ with hot cross buns, and in the caption, I wondered if Sister Elvera, my high school principal, would love it,” Abbie said.
“Anyway, my mum called me and asked if I thought Sister Elvera would be upset. Umm, I don’t think Sister Elvera follows me on Instagram – the nuns are all 90 and they live in a convent, Mum!”
