It’s a happy day in Summer Bay as two of their finest residents are set to wed…in real life!
Home and Away stars James Stewart and Ada Nicodemou, who play Justin Morgan and Leah Patterson-Baker, on the show announced their happy news on Sunday morning.
The loved-up pair will be no strangers to married life having played the role of husband and wife on the show since 2024.
What TV stars congratulated Ada and James?
The couple’s Instagram comments were flooded with well-wishes from fans and famous faces, including many of their Home and Away co-stars.
“This is the most wonderful news! Congratulations Ada and Jimmy, you deserve every happiness,” wrote co-star Emily Symons, who plays Marilyn Chambers in the series.
“Oh my heart!! So thrilled for both of you!! Of course Jimmy proposed and you said yes!!! on Valentines Day!! Excellent news!! Wishing you guys every happiness always,” gushed their former H&A co-star Lynne McGranger.
How did James pop the question?
Giving us an insight into the special moment, Nicodemou shared a video of her husband-to-be professing his love for her in a public park while bending down on one knee.
The 48-year-old looked stunning in a red dress as she fought back tears during his emotional and heartfelt speech. “I said yes!!” she captioned the video on Instagram.
Stewart, 50, shared the same video to his account, with the caption “She said yes.” The adorable clip was soundtracked to Lonestar’s hit love song Amazed– a possible first dance song, perhaps?!
Stewart’s 13-year-old daughter, Scout, who he shares with ex Jessica Marais, also appears in the video to congratulate the happy couple and admire the diamond ring.
Nicodemou’s 13-year-old son, Johnas, who she shares with her ex-husband, restaurateur Chrys Xipolitas, was not seen in the video.
When did Ada and James begin dating?
The couple revealed that their friendship had grown into something more at the 2024 TV Week Logie Awards.
We were always really, really good friends,” Stewart explained to TV Week last year of their 25-year friendship, “And I have not stopped laughing. I still laugh every morning.”
Nicodemou added, “We laugh a lot. It’s been lovely. I feel really content and happy.”
Stewart was previously married to their Home and Away co-star Sarah Roberts for five years, however the pair split in early 2024, just months before he became romantically involved with Nicodemou.
The actress split from Xipolitasv in 2016 after 10 years of marriage and was most recently in a relationship with businessman Adam Rigby for eight years. However, they split towards the end of 2023.
