In the second dinner party of the season, MAFS fans were left speechless after self-proclaimed “girls-girl” Brook fired attack after attack at Stella and Alissa. This behaviour has fans not only questioning the integrity of Brook and her “ride-or-die” Gia, but also the integrity of the show.
MAFS loyalists are now wondering whether the original purpose and premise of this reality hit cannot be retrieved from the rubble of this bride’s battles, with some even suggesting the hostile behaviour at the dinner party should have prompted a “trigger warning” at the top of the episode.
As always, the dinner party brought some much-loved drama, however this time, it went too far.
In a surprise twist, bride Brook, who was thought to have left the show last episode, shocked contestants and viewers with her surprise appearance midway through the dinner.

While her ally Gia was overjoyed, this, of course, confused an already “devastated” Chris, who had only just mustered up the courage to walk into the party alone.
As he shared a vulnerable moment between two producers behind closed doors, fans welcomed his openness, with one user commenting that he’s “grown a bit, emotionally.”
However, it turned out that Brook wasn’t even there for him. Instead, it seemed she was there to tend to some “unfinished business” she had with two of the brides on the show, specifically, Stella and Alissa.

Fans are questioning the integrity of the show
Before finishing her first glass of wine, Brook began insulting Stella, followed by Alissa, completely unprompted.
This behaviour was encouraged by Gia and the group’s short-lived new recruit, Bec, who chimed in and rolled her eyes while the girls were accused of “bullying the others.”
While Stella and Alissa, alongside their husbands Filip and David, stood their ground when responding to Brook’s comments, this maturity was not reciprocated by the so-called “girls-girls.”
In the end, the brides in the firing line opted to not engage at all after realising that Brook wasn’t interested in a conversation, but instead, a brawl.

Fans have reacted in a big way to the dinner party and Brook’s behaviour.
“I genuinely don’t want to keep watching,” one fan commented. “This is not good TV.”
Another fan reiterated the concern other MAFS lovers have for the future of the show, saying that “every season they find worse people at MAFS, I swear that’s what they do.”
“I’m seriously concerned for next year now! The first question must be ‘can you make a good shit show?!'”
Fans think this episode needed a trigger warning
Many fans agreed that no one did enough to call out Brook’s behaviour, referring to the other couples, as well as the experts and producers themselves.
For many viewers, Brook’s insults and “bullying” brought up bad memories, arguing that showing behaviour like this on the show, audiences need a disclaimer.
“I felt sick watching that,” one user commented.
“Do you think they will put a trigger warning or message about contacting Lifeline?” another user commented. “I (and someone else I know) were REALLY upset after the bullying. It brought up a lot of terrible memories and emotions.”
After an explosive episode like this, many fans may swear off the show for good.
