Fame has been kind to Molly Ringwald, the star of John Hughes’s classic films The Breakfast Club, Pretty In Pink and Sixteen Candles.
Experiencing adolescence in the public eye, Molly, 48, credits not reading negative reviews as keeping her head level.
“I made a decision that I would compile them and save them,” she told Canadian newspaper The Vancouver Sun, “and then one day when I wrote my memoirs, When I was 90 years old or whatever, that I would read them and then it. . .wouldn’t really bother me that much.”
But not all of her former colleagues have the same attitude when it comes to rekindling memories of their formative years.
According to Ringwald, Emilio Estevez—brother of Charlie Sheen and, like Ringwald, one of the young stars known in the ’80s as ‘The Brat Pack’—has no interest in re-uniting for a reunion for The Breakfast Club, which celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2015.
The actress, now a singer and writer, is touring Australia with her jazz band and spoke to The Morning Show about her relationships with her former cast mates.
