Bunnings bears are here thanks to the DIY store cashing in on the golden ticket idea that is synonymous with Labubus- blinx-box toys.
After seeing the success of the scary-faced bunnies, the Australian store decided to throw their hat in the ring and bring to the market the Bunnings Warehouse Mystery Box Mini Bear.
At a much cheaper price point than Labubus, the Bunnings bear is already off to a good start with consumers who have cleared the shelves in the DIY store.
Labubus retail for around $32 a box, whilst the Bunnings bear is a fraction of the cost at $12.50.
Five varietes to choose from
The Mini Bears come in five designs: Team Member, Rain Poncho, High‑Vis, Straw Hat, plus a rare “Secret” Bear, and the public have gone wild for them. Many are even taking to social media to share videos of their new obsession.
The bears are designed to “celebrate the trades and the people who make our communities thrive”, with the secret bear “representing women in trade apprenticeships”.
The new range of teddies also come on key chains, just like the viral Labubu toy- they didn’t have to think too hard of that concept!

Bunnings imposes purchase limit on bears
Accurately anticipating the hype around their bears, Bunnings introduced a buying limit of five boxes per person, stating that there is “super limited stock available.”
One mum Tyla told Yahoo Lifestyle that she ran to her local Bunnings to ensure she could buy the “bogan Labubu,” admitting: “There is something so fun and addictive about it.”

Bunnings bears already being resold for more than double
“I fear that they’re going to be the next craze, and they’re pretty affordable in the grand scheme of things at $12.50,” she added.
Despite being on sale for just one day, the soft key chains have already been posted on reseller sites like eBay for shockingly high mark-ups. Some people on eBay are offering to sell singular bears for $25 to $50!
