Haubrich says she can relate to her Bad Mothers character, who is deep in the juggle of raising two kids and balancing work and home life.
“Definitely,” she explains. “Once you have been a mum, you just understand certain things. And I definitely identified and related to what my character goes through, even though the same things haven’t happened to me – I could put myself in those shoes. I think the show is touching on a lot of real issues, and the joy and the challenges of being a mum, and being a woman.”
Like her onscreen character, Haubrich says she’s been blessed to have her own little circle of mothers’ group friends, who’ve had her back since their babies were small.
“There are still two or three of us that get together,” she says. “I suppose we could be the rejects too – I don’t know! We go have margaritas whenever I’m home on the Northern Beaches … it’s loose!”
