“There not much more powerful thank knowing you’re going to take your clothes off in front of the country,” McMillan tells WHO.

The Sunrise star committed to a lifestyle overhaul in the weeks before he stripped down for his Full Monty performance, which results in substantial weight loss.

“I lost roughly five or six six weeks” The former radio presenter kilos, which is quite a bit in six weeks,” he says. “That was intentional, to be in the best shape I could be and I really committed to it. I changed the diet and exercise and really gave it a good shot.”

McMillan enlisted the help of a personal- trainer friend, who encouraged him to change his eating habits. “I had to cut out the good stuff,” he laughs. “Like all the stuff I love. I love pizza, I love pasta, I love halloumi cheese, I love naan bread when I have Indian.”

The 37-year-old ramped up the time he spent at the gym, aiming for five or six sessions a week. “I was doing a circuit my [personal trainer] mate put together for me,” he says. “It actually only takes 30 or 40 minutes but it’s very high intensity and it works the whole body.”

Stripping down to his birthday suit while completing choreographed dance moves didn’t come easy. “I’m not a dancer, believe it or not— freestyle rapper with Nikki Webster, yes—but dancing, no,” he says. “Over the years when I’ve gone out to pubs and nightclubs, I am always the one standing towards the back.

“The reason I agreed to do it is because it’s about getting not only men but women talking about men’s health. Getting wives to get onto their husbands, getting girlfriends to get onto their boyfriends to say ‘Hey, have you gone and done that check?’ ”

While McMillan has conquered the stage, there’s one thing that he’s still not completely comfortable with: dating apps. “I don’t do apps,” he says.

“I don’t do Bumble, it just doesn’t really appeal to me, it feels a bit too forced and a bit too premeditated so that might be why I’m still single. I think dating’s great fun if you meet someone really cool, but I don’t like the forced hook-ups.”
