If there’s one thing I love, it’s a good binge. There’s nothing quite like tucking yourself away in the dark with a sweet treat by your side as you prepare to escape into another world.
Recently, I’ve dug into some new releases, leaning heavily towards crime as characters unravel the tragedies of their past.
From a beautifully irreverent tropical gothic set in Darwin to a Yellowstone-esque family drama in rural Montana, and even a reimagining of literature’s favourite Baker Street detective, these shows had me hooked and excited for more.
If you’ve been looking for your next binge-worthy series, consider the search over.
Here are some shows exclusive to Paramount+ and Amazon Prime that you simply cannot miss.
Deadloch Season 2
That’s right!
The global Tasmanian noir phenomenon that was Deadloch is back with more ironically crude language than before (thank f—!).
From my viewing of the show, I can confirm that the stakes are certainly scalier, the crimes are stickier, and the character dynamics are just as relatable as before.

This tropical noir is set in the Top End.
Filmed in the real town of Batchelor, Deadloch season 2 takes place in the fictional Northern Territory town of Barra Creek, located about an hour from Darwin, with red dirt roads, lush canopies and glassy waterways full of 65-million-year-old predators.
WHO spoke returning actresses Kate Box (Dulcie) and Madeleine Sami (Eddie) this week, who summarised the season in four words: “Thrushy. Sweaty. Beguiling. Emotional.”
When Eddie’s former policing partner, Bushy, turns up dead, alongside the body of a local icon, Dulcie and Eddie are thrown into a croc‑infested case.
Kate noted that her character is having “a rough adjustment period, physically, emotionally, spiritually, professionally” this season.
“She’s flapping on the land, gasping for air,” Kate told WHO. “She’s happy to be with Eddie still, but not necessarily acclimatising very well to her new environment, which is fun.”
You can watch the second season (and catch up on the first!) on Amazon Prime, with season two airing on March 20, 2026.
The Madison
This show has been on my radar for a while.
The Madison, now streaming on Paramount+, was originally conceived as a Yellowstone spin-off.
However, while developed by the same creator, Taylor Sheridan, this series stands alone.

The Madison is set in Montana but this neo-Western drama centres on a new story about the Clyburn family, rather than the Duttons who are central to the Yellowstone franchise.
This series is said to focus more on grief and human connection after a tragic loss is suffered, following a profound love story led by the family’s matriarch Michelle Pfeiffer and her late husband Kurt Russell.
A story with a matriarch!? And that matriarch is Michelle Pfeiffer?! Sign me up!

The 6-episode series follows the wealthy Clyburn family from New York City as they relocate to Montana’s Madison River valley. From fishing to knee-dropping breakdowns, I’ve heard this series has it all and I cannot wait to sign off and binge it this weekend.
The Madison premiered on March 14, 2026 and is now streaming on Paramount+.
Young Sherlock
The pilot episode for Young Sherlock shows Hero Fiennes Tiffin, who plays Sherlock, in the middle of a boxing match.
As a fan of Robert Downey Jr.’s 2009 Sherlock Holmes, I appreciated the reference.

Directed by Guy Ritchie (so you already know it’s going to be good), this 2026 Amazon Prime series follows a 19-year-old Sherlock Holmes as he solves, gets accused, and gets caught up in crimes taking place at Oxford University.
Teaming up with a young James Moriarty (his future arch-nemesis for those who love Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s novels that first created Sherlock Holmes), the pair spend the series chaotically, yet cleverly, clearing their names and uncovering family secrets.
For those seeking a familiar story with an unfamiliar twist, add this to your list!
Young Sherlock premieres on March 4, 2026, and is now streaming on Amazon Prime.
