Autumn, a California native of Filipino and Creole descent, delivered a heartfelt speech where she asked “all of the women in the room to stand up.”

“I’m so honoured to be here,” she said. “I really want all of the women in the room to stand up because I feel like I don’t get here without you guys.”

Bridesmaids reunion proves to be the funniest moment of the night

Bridesmaids stars Melissa McCarthy, Rose Byrne, Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph and Ellie Kemper appeared together on-stage 15 years after the film’s release to present the award for Best Score and Best Sound.

The ladies jokingly read notes “written” by people in the audience, including Leonardo DiCaprio, Stellan Skarsgård and Benicio del Toro, which commented on the work the women had done to their faces over the years and on the fact that the show was going on too long.

It was possibly the funniest moment of the night, proving women should be hosting this event… Please, let’s give Tina Fey and Amy Poehler the chance to host the Oscars!

Fans slam ‘dull’ Oscars ceremony

There’s one word many people are using across the board for the Oscars today, and sadly, that word is dull!

“I think this year Conan [O’Brien] played it far too safe with the monologue and it really felt it lost its bite,” one viewer wrote on X. “Oscar monologues can be edgy. This wasn’t. Bland, dull and predictable.”

“This is a pretty dull awards ceremony, they are really lacking the songs!” another said, jokingly adding, “I never thought I’d say that in my life.”

A third joked, “This is so boring I need Will Smith to come back and slap someone.”

Billy Crystal shares heartwrenching tribute to Rob Reiner

To begin the In Memorium segment, Billy Crystal shared a beautiful tribute to his best friend and collaborator of 50 years, Rob Reiner, who died in December 2025 alongside his wife, Michele Singer Reiner.

“My friend Rob’s movies will last for lifetimes, because they were about what makes us laugh and cry, and what we aspire to be, far better in his eyes, far kinder, far funnier and far more human,” Billy said.

He added that when Rob met Michele, she drove them to fight against social injustice in the US.

“Rob and Michele Reiner became the driving force in the landmark decision for marriage equality across the United States,” he shared, adding the pair’s loss is “immeasurable”.

Stars who had appeared in some of Rob’s biggest films appeared on-stage to pay tribute to the director.

Rachel McAdams also appeared onstage to pay tribute to people like Catherine O’Hara and her former co-star and friend, Dianne Keaton, with The Notebook star breaking down as she described how the legendary actress spoke about friendship.

“For over 50 years, luminous on-screen and indelible in life, believe me when I say there is not an actress who is not inspired by and enthralled with her absolute singularity,” Rachel said.

“She meant so much to so many of us,” she added, then, through tears, described her as “a legend with no end”.

Sean Penn won the award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in One Battle After Another, but wasn’t in attendance to accept the award.

The actor seems to have a strange relationship with awards shows.

His no-show at the Oscars comes after he failed to attend the Actor Awards and BAFTAs, despite winning Best Actor in a Supporting Role at both.

Sean has previously skipped three out of five Oscar ceremonies as a nominee and has previously mentioned that he would be willing to melt down his Oscars to make bullets for the Ukrainian war.

He won his first Oscar for Mystic River, and his second for Milk.

We have ourselves a tie!

When announcing the winners for Best Live Action Short Film, Kumail Nanjiani had to emphasise to the audience that he was not joking when he announced there was a tie!

Betting sites have hinted at who could win Best Picture, Best Actor and Best Actress at this year’s Oscars.

In Australia, Sportsbet currently has One Battle After Another with the highest chances of winning Best Picture, with Paul Thomas Anderson also leading the odds for Best Director.

When it comes to Best Actor, it looks like Michael B. Jordan’s performance as twins Smoke and Stack in Sinners will give him the win. Timothée Chalamet follows behind.

Despite winning the Golden Globe, Australia’s own Rose Byrne might not walk away with Best Actress this year for her performance in If I Had Legs I’d Kick You, with Hamnet’s Jessie Buckley potentially set to take the win.

Anne Hathaway and Anna Wintour presented together

To announce the Oscars for Best Costume Design and Best Makeup and Hairstyling, Anne Hathaway and Anna Wintour strutted on stage to Madonna’s Vogue – a playful nod to The Devil Wears Prada.

Before presenting the Best Costume award, Anne sheepishly asked Anna for her opinion on her dress. In true Miranda Priestly style (a character famously based off Anna Wintour herself), Anna turned away, slid on her iconic sunglasses, and went straight to announcing the nominees.

However, the moment that sent laughter through the audience was Anna’s simple, “Thank you Emily”, before announcing the nominees for Best Makeup and Hairstyling.

It was iconic, to say the least. Now we’re sat for The Devil Wears Prada 2.

Conan O’Brien calls out Timothée Chalamet in opening monologue

There was always a high chance Conan O’Brien would mention Timothée Chalamet’s infamous comments about the opera and ballet in his opening speech, and the host certainly didn’t shy away from the controversy.

Within minutes, O’Brien singled out Timothée, who sat beside Kylie Jenner.

“Security is extrememly tight tonight, I just thought I’d menion that,” O’Brien said. “I’m told there’s concern about attacks from both the opera and ballet communities. They’re just mad you left out jazz.”

The camera panned to Chalamet and Jenner, who both nervously laughed at the remark.

Kylie Jenner skips the Oscars red carpet

Timothée Chalamet’s billionaire girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, rocked a Jessica Rabbit-style look for the event. The star posted a clip of her red Schiaparelli look on Instagram with the caption, “Jessica who?”

Fans loved the look, with many saying they were “screaming” when they saw it, and we have to agree.
