The Farmer Wants A Wife finale saw farmers Jarrad and Dylan pick which lady they want by their sides, bringing the season of drama, heartbreak, shock exits and love to an end.

As Dylan chose Ally and Jarrad chose Brodie (but not before Yvonne could reject him first), viewers have been sharing their thoughts on the decisions after investing so much time in the contestants over the last few months.

While the majority of fan sentiment has been around how gracious and composed Scarlett was during Dylan’s rejection, some eagle-eyed viewers are still not over some of the comments made during Dylan’s visit to Scarlett’s family earlier in the episode.

Dylan expressed a major concern he had about his potential future with the polo player after hearing about her many travel adventures and her education at international boarding schools. In his words, her world was “too polished” for him.

It also didn’t help that Scarlett’s stepdad had a somewhat intimidating chat with Dylan about how much the farmer will need to keep up with her love for socialising, a comment fans are convinced “ruined it for her”.

However, in a chat with WHO, Scarlett revealed that she had no problem with her stepdad’s honesty, but something about Dylan’s comment about her life “did not sit well” with her instead.

Why Scarlett is ‘sensitive’ about being stereotyped

Scarlett explained it was disappointing to hear Dylan’s comment about her “too polished” life because she believed the rodeo cowboy had come to understand her better during their time together.

“That question did not sit well with me,” she told WHO. “People have this perspective that I want this glamorous, beautiful, rich life… And that is not true at all.”

Just because Scarlett grew up in Hong Kong and went to boarding schools in the UK and France before moving to Australia doesn’t mean she is chasing a pampered life.

On the show when Dylan raised the concern, Scarlett told him that she would “be happy camping at rodeos every weekend because those are memories that [she] can tell [her] children”.

“I’m not here to find a partner that has this glamorous life already,” she added. “I want to build that with my partner, and it doesn’t necessarily have to be the end goal.

“For me, a rich life is life that’s full of love and a big family that’s loving and sticks together through the tough times. I guess there definitely is that stereotype of me, that I do expect these things, and I guess it’s just a sensitive topic for me because I’m not a materialistic person in any way.”

While she admitted that she likes “to look good”, she doesn’t “expect anyone to uphold that for [her] at all”.

‘I am a very full on person and a lot of people can’t take that’

While fans are convinced that Scarlett’s stepdad’s warning to Dylan about her love of socialising ruined things for the contestant, she said that she actually really “appreciated the comment”.

“I do like to go to events, whether that be a polo event, whether that be going to a nightclub,” she admitted. “I love socialising, that was one of the biggest things for me.

“I honestly think what my stepdad said is very true. I am a very full on person and a lot of people can’t take that, and I think it was good that Dylan was made aware of that, even though I’m sure he would have worked that out from the very beginning of meeting me.”

She added that when her stepdad labelled her as “full on”, he was referring to how she is “outspoken” and a “straight shooter”, and admitted that “that’s not exactly easy to be with”.

“You definitely need to know what you signed up for,” she joked.

While Dylan confessed throughout the season that he was attracted to this side of Scarlett, his heart ultimately belonged to Ally.

Scarlett revealed that she and the couple are still good friends and has genuinely loved watching their romance play out on screen
