As the drama from this season of Farmer Wants A Wife has well and truly unfolded, we’ve had everything from AI farmer alterations to shock exits and uncomfortable (but necessary) confrontations between ladies – behaviour, that while very much against the wholesome history of the show, was bound to happen given women are literally competing for a man’s heart.
However, a detail that snuck under the radar amidst all this drama was recently revealed by the show’s most controversial (but dare I say, iconic) contestant, Miranda Chopping – and oh, is it a tale as old as time!
Speaking to WHO, Miranda exposed the farmers for lying about their real heights – a hilarious detail to reveal, given how much emphasis Channel Seven placed on this feature when promoting the farmers’ bios.

Miranda from Farmer Zac’s group of ladies has gone viral for being the show’s ‘villain’ this year, with the biggest conflict centring around her clash with fellow contestant Maya and Zac’s twin sister, Izzy.
However, what many fans don’t know is that she actually applied for two farmers this season: Farmer Zac AND Farmer Dylan.
After discussing how she couldn’t be 100% sure if Dylan would’ve been a better match, she also candidly added that he was too short for her. In fact, Miranda said that all the farmers on the show were shorter than their bios stated.
“They’re just short,” she told WHO.
On the bio page for the 2026 farmers, their heights all range from 5’9 and 6’3.
“They are, I’m telling you, they’re not all over six foot…. I think [Alex], he was shorter than all of us girls.”

Why does someone’s height matter so much in dating?
But are we really surprised? How many times have you matched with someone on a dating app, only to find they lied about being taller than they actually were? A man lying about his height isn’t a crime, nor is it uncommon in the slightest.
Let’s face it, we’ve all stretched the truth every now and then, particularly when it comes to dating. It’s a scary world out there!
Beauty standards, at least from my experience in Western culture, are simply insane. More often than not, details about someone’s height, body type, and everything in between seem to carry just as much weight as their personality or if you share common interests, if not more!
I’m certainly not the tallest tool in the shed, and so I’m not one to judge or complain…but I’m also not going to add a couple of inches to my height if I was stopped on the street about it, or let’s say – I don’t know – if I applied for a national reality TV dating show…
Nevertheless, you can understand why Seven hyped up the farmers’ heights. In the lead-up to the show’s premiere, the farmers were painted as “the hottest farmers yet”, with many fans conspiring that they’re not real farmers at all, and instead, believed them to be models.
In a world of limb lengthening – watch Pedro Pascal in The Materialists, and you’ll know what I mean – height has been conflated with attractiveness, and so it’s no wonder why Seven really leant into this detail.
However, most women aren’t actually hung up about these couple of extra centimetres – I mean, maybe Miranda was – but instead, that men always seem to be lying about it.
So, the lesson? Maybe stop lying about something women can fact-check? I’m sure men lying about their heights on dating apps is far from over, but hey, a short girl can dream. Just be thankful you’re not going to get pulled up on national television about it!
